contacting df'd ones?

Do you shun former members?

Those who simply cease to be involved in the faith are not shunned. In compliance with the Scriptures, however, members can be expelled for serious unchristian conduct, such as stealing, drunkenness, or adultery, if they do not repent and cease such actions. Disfellowshipping does not sever family ties. Disfellowshipped members may continue to attend religious services, and if they wish, they may receive pastoral visits. They are always welcome to return to the faith.—1 Corinthians 5:11-13.

I was DFd this past February 1st. I am not welcome in my parents' home and I am only allowed to call once a month to see how they are doing. I work with a JW who is shunning me to the point that it has recently put his job in jeopardy. Does this pretty much answer your question?

Normalizing the WTS

for jws, persecution is a self-fulfilling prophecy because of their behavior.. if they were to make three basic changes they could easily become mainstream.. 1. get rid of their shunning practices.. 2. allow open discussion that questions wt teachings and policies.. 3. allow members to openly believe things contrary to the wt teachings without fear of retribution from the organization, or the individual members.. they are so hung up on protecting the flock and the phrase a house divided cannot stand.

they have failed to realize to power of the individual and the fact that people with different beliefs and thoughts can work together for a common goal.. as i see it, these things cannot happen because of the nature of most of its members.

the wts is appealing to and full of people that are searching for absolute biblical truth - black and white thinking.

I'm not sure they would become mainstream unless they did away with the door to door practices. I think people would be inclined to attend services if they went on their own. It would certainly make people think.

jesus gave an illustration about a man who had a hundred sheep but promptly searched for one that had strayed in order to bring it back to the flock.

They just want to keep the neighborhood from thinking that JWs have a new standard. It is indeed a control issue. It is also a very subtle way to make those in the territory think what the WTS wants them to think...that is, that JWs ARE different from them, therefore keeping them from listening to anyone ever associated with the dubs - like us. But in reality, if the dubs were so different then why do over 300,000 get DFd every year? Duh!

I'm looking for an XJW from the Chicago area. I knew Eric in Houston, TX and then he moved. I'd like to chat with him and see how he is doing. He has a cousin in Houston - Pauline Oliver - that I know...she is in my old congregation. I saw him at a funeral last fall...we talked for a few minutes. Afterward I found out that he had DAd himself....at least that's what I was told. Anyway, if you are him or if you know him...let me know.

A dubbie next door.

my next door neighbours have a dubbie come and trim their trees every year.

he has come to know me as a lovely lady (acting is my greated gift) who has some jw connections.

it doesn't appear to have entered his head that i might be an............ apostate!

I relapsed when I was 19yr old. It led me to an unhappy marriage that caused both the brother and me to be hurt. Yeah, great system the dubs have got going. I'm so glad to be CURED!!

i can't face the stress and the pain.. i can't sleep, i can't rest.

i can't think.. i don't know what to do.. please help me.. joel

Since Rheumatoid Arthritis has been ruled out, have you been checked for Fibromyalgia (fm)? It affects mostly women but it is worth looking into. I thought I had arth and it turned out to be fm.

pulling over from another thread.... i'm curious how many have dabbled in witchcraft/spiritism after leaving the jws.

or, perhaps, before joining.. i'm curious what experiences have been had.

Anyway, after reading all the posts by gsx and seedy3, I have to say that I mostly agree with them. I guess some witches will come out of the 'broom closet' afterall. Those that I know will not talk about it unless you also have an ability. Apparently I do. I am currently developing my intuitive visualisation and mental ability.

I never told anyone when I was growing up, b/c of the JW thing, that I know whether or not something will happen based on whether I can 'see' it or not. I guess you could call it a 'sense'. For example, if plans are made and I can 'see' it happen in my minds eye then 99% of the time it happens. If I can't 'see' it then it doesn't happen. For a while I wondered if the demons were playing with me...I was a dub so what other explanation could there be. As I got older I just resigned myself to know that I had this ability and didn't ever tell anyone.

I have the ability to sense a presence in a room...especially if it is a troublesome spirit. The 'possessed person' that I mentioned in my earlier post was a troublesome spirit. He came out of nowhere and sat talking with my mother one night while I was at the KH. When I came home the apartment felt different and he suddenly had to leave - as though my presence bothered him. This was the first time I realized I could sense spirits...I had felt it before but couldn't identify the feeling. Anyway, he had convinced my mother to put cigarette burns in her arm (7 of them) and told her that she had to drink blood within 7 days or I would die. My mother told me that my picture had fallen off the wall as soon as he said this. The only way she knew how to protect me was to send me to live with JWs.

I believe that my mother had strong abilities but had such dark energy that she was forbidden to use them. The witches that I know have seen her picture and describe the feeling they get as a 'black hole' and one said that she got the creeps...I hadn't told them who they were looking at in the picture. It has been said that I have a 'protective spirit' or ghost if you will.

Enough of my rambling....for now.

I'm not a doctor so I can't say what's wrong...but it sounds (obviously) like an anxiety attack. I take really good meds for that myself. How are you now?? Your original post was hours ago. Call a friend, doctor, somebody. Do what you need to do to get through this! We're here for you buddy! Email me if you want to and we can talk on the phone. I've come to love you on this forum in just a month...esp since we are family. YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO THRU THIS ALONE!
